I just received a notice about copyright infringement.
I haven't posted any tribal designs in years, but when I did, I posted a bunch of car emblems (Example: Subaru, Dodge, Mazda...).
I uploaded one for Acura in 2009. I ALWAYS give proper credit to whomsoever really owns the piece that I tribalized. I never post something without making it a clear point that I DON'T OWN THE ORIGINAL AND HAVE NO ACTUAL CLAIM ON THE PIECE except from an artist standpoint. The art itself that I draw, by hand, then scan, then digitize it, then upload it... The ART is mine. The design does NOT belong to me.
So why did I get a complaint about it? That one complaint is what ruins it for everyone else.
So I'm faced with a decision.
Do I delete them all from the internet and never repost them anywhere that anyone can see them (except to maybe get someone to make them into a decal and put one on my own car)...
OR
Do I just put them all under 'fanart', even though that's NOT what they are, if only to try and signify that I don't actually own them at all.
It's a big decision. Either way, I have a long night ahead of me, doing something about tribal designs that shouldn't be an issue at all.
